This International seminar on Frontiers of Stem celli and Biotechnology in Veterinary and Human Medicine will be conducted for the benefit of students of veterinary & human medicine, dental, biotechnology and life sciences at Madras Veterinary College, Chennai - 6007, Tamilnadu, India. This seminar is arranged to attract young students into the field of stem cells and regenerative medicine. Dr. R. Prabakaran,  Dean, Madras Veterinary College and Dr.B. Justin William, Professor of Surgery, Madras Veterinary College involved in organizing the seminar. The objectives are:

1.         The seminar will bring physicians, clinical researchers, and basic science researchers together for a concentrated interaction.

2.         Second, by featuring 23 lectures by recognized experts in stem cell and regenerative medicine from the veterinary and human medicine. The seminar will provide an education and learning platform for the human and veterinary medicine students in the current state of the art and possibilities presented by stem cell medicine.

3.         This seminar is planned to create awareness among the clinical and medical students about the main concepts of stem cell research and therapy:  embryonic, adult, induced pluripotenti and cancer stem cells, isolation, scientific applications, political and ethical issues, public vs. private funding, and potential abuses.
